Homegrown Moving Story

Homegrown Moving & Storage started with a simple idea: Moving should be easy, not stressful. Our founder and CEO, Josh, got his start in the moving industry back in 2007, working for a local company. Over the years, he saw firsthand what worked (and what didn’t) when it came to helping people relocate. He knew there had to be a better way, and in 2016, he turned that vision into a reality by launching Homegrown Moving & Storage right out of a garage in the Denver area.

What started as a small operation has grown into a trusted name across Denver, the metro area, and the nearby mountain towns. Today, we’ve expanded our services, fine-tuned our process, and built a team of experienced movers dedicated to making every relocation smooth and hassle-free. With a spacious warehouse, top-tier equipment, and a deep understanding of what it takes to move efficiently in Colorado, from busy city streets to winding mountain roads, we’ve perfected the art of stress-free moving.

Every morning, our dedicated fleet manager ensures that each truck is stocked with everything needed for a smooth move, including dollies, 4-wheelers, furniture pads, ratchet straps, home protection materials, and more. Plus, we start every day with a freshly cleaned truck, so no dust, dirt, or debris from the previous job makes its way into your home.

We don’t just hire movers; we train professionals. Every team member goes through a rigorous training program, including multiple demo moves, before ever stepping onto a job. To keep our crews at the top of their game, we provide monthly refresher courses, ensuring they stay sharp, up-to-date, and ready for anything. Unlike other companies, we never use day laborers, only full-time, trained professionals who take pride in delivering exceptional service.

Additionally, we understand that moving in the Rockies comes with unique challenges, and that’s where our Mountain Moving Team shines. This expert crew is specially trained to navigate tight mountain roads, safely handle difficult terrain, and expertly pack and crate specialty items like artwork and delicate furniture.

Our People and Culture

Our team is at the heart of Homegrown Moving & Storage. We proudly employ 15 professional movers, all of whom are lifelong Colorado locals with expert knowledge of Denver and the surrounding cities. Each mover brings an average of seven years of experience and can serve as a dedicated coordinator for your entire moving process. Over half of our team has been with us since 2020, a testament to our strong company culture and commitment to excellence.

Our office and executive staff have been with us for years, developing the skills and expertise to handle all types of moves with precision and care. Plus, every one of our on-site estimators started as movers, giving them firsthand knowledge of what it takes to execute a smooth relocation. They don’t just provide an accurate estimate; they walk you through exactly how your items will be packed, protected, moved, and stored, ensuring complete confidence on moving day.

Giving Back

Our team believes in making a difference beyond just moving. We’re proud to partner with Project Our Town, a Denver nonprofit that connects residents with meaningful volunteer opportunities. By collaborating with nonprofits across the city, we ensure that our efforts benefit the entire community.

We’re also an active partner with Move for Hunger, helping donate food from our clients to local food pantries and participating in community food drives. Move for Hunger has contributed 37 million pounds of food over the past 15 years, and we’re honored to play a role in that impact.

We also partner with Innovage to provide moves for seniors going into their facilities or switching facilities, as well as Ohava, an AI platform that provides resources for all home needs for specific markets in the United States.

Additionally, we proudly take part in Keller Williams Red Day (2023 & 2024), dedicating time and resources to community service projects. Giving back is at the heart of what we do, because when our community thrives, we all move forward together.
