Dear valued clients,
Our business is continuing to operate as we navigate the current COVID-19 situation, and we are adapting our operations by practicing social distancing, and reiterating the practices of good hygiene, like frequent hand washing, providing hand sanitizer and gloves for the moving crews. We are also offering virtual onsites for current/ future clients during the current situation. We will do our best to keep our current clientele informed of any changes to current/ future moves.

As our client, your safety and health is our #1 priority during this state of emergency. Please consider the following guidelines to prepare for your move with us:

⚠ADVICE FOR CLIENTS REGARDING SETTING UP CONDITIONS FOR A MOVE: • Upon our arrival, please have your residence/ office/ items as ready as possible (cleaned/ sanitized and ventilated in advance) for the removal of your items. • It is recommended that you/ your representatives will keep, at a minimum, 6 feet of distance from our crew. Our crew members will keep, at a minimum, 6 feet of distance or more at the time of service. • You will assure continuous ventilation of the spaces we work in at all times. • Please provide dedicated bathroom(s), equipped with soap and paper towels for our crew members.

⚠LIMITATION OF LIABILITIES OF MOVING COMPANIES AND THEIR RIGHT TO CANCEL WORK (NATIONAL LOCAL MOVES): The Government has stated it is or will be implementing (as yet) measures to combat the spread of the virus. Such measures in place might impact our ability to provide services to you (including but not limited for us having to suspend or cancel in full the services) or the virus otherwise affects our ability to fulfill your relocation. This may place us in a position where we will not be able to accept any ability for any losses that may arise and we limit our liability accordingly. We are keeping the matter under careful review and will ensure that all customers are advised of any developments that may affect fulfillment of contracted services.

As our team at Homegrown Moving Company has been following updates, we are choosing to work with & adhere to the guidelines set forth by health officials and authorities. We want to do our part in mitigating the impact and spread of COVID-19 to the businesses and communities we serve, and we are implementing the following strategies to do so:

We have discussed with our team members what to do in the scenario that anyone is experiencing symptoms or may have been exposed to the virus. We have an understanding among ourselves to be transparent if somebody's not feeling good or may have been exposed. We understand the need to self quarantine for the proper amount of time, if this occurs, to avoid any further spread. In turn, we ask the same from our customers. In the event that you are feeling sick or may have been exposed, we are happy to make arrangements for another move date.

Use of examination gloves: Our teams will wear examination gloves while servicing moves as an additional hygiene measure and self protection. Gloves will be discarded after each move.

Due to the high demand of masks, we are unable to provide them at the moment, but if you would like masks to be provided for your move, please provide them and we can use them.

Our team will also have hand sanitizer, and we ask that they are allowed to use a sink or water source to wash their hands when available. Social distancing: Upon arrival to our customers' homes or offices, team members will follow the protocol of social distancing, allowing 6' between team members and you, our customer. We have always valued the professionalism and respect that accompany an introductory handshake, however during the COVID-19 outbreak, we ask that our customers understand for safety purposes that we will refrain from shaking hands or making physical contact.

Proper ventilation: In move settings when available, we request that our customers open outside doors and/or windows to increase air circulation. All of the above will be effective immediately and remain in place until April 20th, until we can reassess the situation and make further announcements. We strive to continue to practice CDC/ Federal / State/ WHO (World Health Organization) guidelines for health and safety to prevent contagion in our community.

Thank you, Homegrown Moving

Essential items to pack for college

Going to college must be exciting and terrifying at the same time, especially if you are moving far away from home. Besides thinking of a new environment, you need to pack and move everything to some new college home. This is not the fun part, but it is manageable. You can simply hire local movers Denver residents recommend, and they will help you transport everything safely. But, first, you need to figure out what to take with you. You would want to take everything, but maybe that won’t be possible. So, here are our suggestions on what are essential items to pack for college.

Essentials items to pack for college

As already said, it is normal for you to want to take as many as possible things with you. That maybe won’t be possible, if you are moving to a dorm, or in an apartment with a roommate. If you need to share space with someone, you should choose carefully the things that you are moving with you. Anyway, if you don’t pack everything at the beginning, it is not the end of the world, you can always go home and take some other stuff. Or, someone can send these items to you. But, let’s for step by step. First, let’s make a list of essential items to pack for college. You can make a few groups of items – items necessary for college, items to set up your room/apartment, toiletries, clothes, etc.

  • bedding stuff
  • desk supplies, learning supplies, electronic devices – the real essentials items to pack for college
  • toiletries
  • clothes
  • household and kitchen items depending on the place where you will be living
sticky notes and markers
You will be needing a lot of notebooks, markers, and sticky notes for college.

Once you decide what to pack, you can hire professional movers to help you. Search for the best full service moving companies Denver can provide. Ask for a moving estimate and then choose the company that suits your needs. It is a lot easier to prepare for college if you know someone who will handle the relocation of your belongings.

Before you take any action, sit down and talk with your parents about moving. Decide together if you are going to move on your own or if you are hiring Denver residential movers, and, most important, discuss with your parents the moving budget. Then you can start by making a list of items.

Prepare a move by making a list of essential items to pack for college

When you need to decide what to take with you make a list of all the important items. Make a list of the clothes and underwear that you will be needing. Put on your list underwear, socks, long and short sleeve shirts, hoodies, sweaters, jeans, belts, pajamas, swimsuits, and coats. Then you can add some flip-flops, sandals, sneakers, boots, rain boots, and elegant shoes. If that is possible, you can pack all this at once and take it with you. If not, pack something for the first few months and then when you settle down, you can go home and take the rest of the things.

Take with you the clothes and undergarments that will be enough for at least a few months.

Don’t forget about toiletries

Once you finish with the list of clothes that you will be needing, you should make a list of your toiletries – shampoo/ conditioner, toothbrush/ toothpaste, soap, deodorant, brush, razors, makeup, medicines, tissues, and toilet paper. Also, you will want to have with you some aspirin, vitamins, or antibiotics, especially if you have some prescripted ones.

You cannot set up your new college home without your bedding

No matter if you are moving to a dorm or apartment, you will be needing some bedding to take with you. This will make you feel comfortable and maybe less nostalgic about your home. So, prepare for moving, sheets and pillowcases, your pillows, towels, and blankets. If needed, you can take your own mattress.

To set up your new home as best as possible, take with you a bedside lamp, alarm clock, mini trash can, and fan. Clothes hangers and a drying rack would be good to have with you as well.

The most essential items to pack for college

Then you come to the most important items for your college – books, laptops, iPads, pencils, notebooks, etc. Do not forget to gather all the important documents you need to bring to the University. Make sure you have enough notebooks, pens, sticky notes, paper clips, and folders with pockets. Also, make sure you have enough electronic storage media such as memory cards and USB flash drives, or buy more space on online storage.

Don’t forget all the essential items for your college – a laptop, notebooks, pens, and relevant literature.

Normally, you want to take a lot of your belongings with you and your pet. But, before you do something like bringing your dog or cat, or any other pet with you, check if it is possible. Most student accommodations will not allow pets. Instead, you can take your favorite staff toy, pillow, or blanket, or take with you some photos to make the space cozy and to remind you of your home.

Hire professional movers or not

As we mentioned, you should talk this through with your parents. If you are supporting yourself alone, then sit down and set up a moving budget. Then, you can decide if you are hiring movers. It is definitely easier to hire experts and ask for the best packing services Denver CO movers can offer. Experienced movers will have the right supplies and equipment. They will make sure your items are transported quickly and safely.

If you are hiring movers, there are a lot of ways to find them. You can visit some websites to find reliable movers, and ask friends or family for a recommendation. Find the solution that suits you the best.

When preparing to go to some new city it would be good to read about it. You should explore the city and get to know it. Make a list of essential items to pack for college and start the adventure.
