Dear valued clients,
Our business is continuing to operate as we navigate the current COVID-19 situation, and we are adapting our operations by practicing social distancing, and reiterating the practices of good hygiene, like frequent hand washing, providing hand sanitizer and gloves for the moving crews. We are also offering virtual onsites for current/ future clients during the current situation. We will do our best to keep our current clientele informed of any changes to current/ future moves.

As our client, your safety and health is our #1 priority during this state of emergency. Please consider the following guidelines to prepare for your move with us:

⚠ADVICE FOR CLIENTS REGARDING SETTING UP CONDITIONS FOR A MOVE: • Upon our arrival, please have your residence/ office/ items as ready as possible (cleaned/ sanitized and ventilated in advance) for the removal of your items. • It is recommended that you/ your representatives will keep, at a minimum, 6 feet of distance from our crew. Our crew members will keep, at a minimum, 6 feet of distance or more at the time of service. • You will assure continuous ventilation of the spaces we work in at all times. • Please provide dedicated bathroom(s), equipped with soap and paper towels for our crew members.

⚠LIMITATION OF LIABILITIES OF MOVING COMPANIES AND THEIR RIGHT TO CANCEL WORK (NATIONAL LOCAL MOVES): The Government has stated it is or will be implementing (as yet) measures to combat the spread of the virus. Such measures in place might impact our ability to provide services to you (including but not limited for us having to suspend or cancel in full the services) or the virus otherwise affects our ability to fulfill your relocation. This may place us in a position where we will not be able to accept any ability for any losses that may arise and we limit our liability accordingly. We are keeping the matter under careful review and will ensure that all customers are advised of any developments that may affect fulfillment of contracted services.

As our team at Homegrown Moving Company has been following updates, we are choosing to work with & adhere to the guidelines set forth by health officials and authorities. We want to do our part in mitigating the impact and spread of COVID-19 to the businesses and communities we serve, and we are implementing the following strategies to do so:

We have discussed with our team members what to do in the scenario that anyone is experiencing symptoms or may have been exposed to the virus. We have an understanding among ourselves to be transparent if somebody's not feeling good or may have been exposed. We understand the need to self quarantine for the proper amount of time, if this occurs, to avoid any further spread. In turn, we ask the same from our customers. In the event that you are feeling sick or may have been exposed, we are happy to make arrangements for another move date.

Use of examination gloves: Our teams will wear examination gloves while servicing moves as an additional hygiene measure and self protection. Gloves will be discarded after each move.

Due to the high demand of masks, we are unable to provide them at the moment, but if you would like masks to be provided for your move, please provide them and we can use them.

Our team will also have hand sanitizer, and we ask that they are allowed to use a sink or water source to wash their hands when available. Social distancing: Upon arrival to our customers' homes or offices, team members will follow the protocol of social distancing, allowing 6' between team members and you, our customer. We have always valued the professionalism and respect that accompany an introductory handshake, however during the COVID-19 outbreak, we ask that our customers understand for safety purposes that we will refrain from shaking hands or making physical contact.

Proper ventilation: In move settings when available, we request that our customers open outside doors and/or windows to increase air circulation. All of the above will be effective immediately and remain in place until April 20th, until we can reassess the situation and make further announcements. We strive to continue to practice CDC/ Federal / State/ WHO (World Health Organization) guidelines for health and safety to prevent contagion in our community.

Thank you, Homegrown Moving

What packing supplies should you use?

Ah, packing – a necessary evil whenever you decide to move house. If you’re dreading the process of putting your entire life into boxes, we completely understand where you’re coming from. Let’s face it, it’s not the most fun of processes and you can’t wait for it to be done. Well, first things first – you need to get some packing supplies. After all, you have to gather everything you need before you can start placing all of your belongings into boxes. Unless, of course, you’d prefer to hire packing services Denver to do the job for you. If you’re an inexperienced packer, we’re here to tell you which packing materials you should use so that you have one less thing to worry about. So, let’s dig in – the sooner you start, the sooner you’ll be done with packing.

The necessary packing supplies

1. Cardboard boxes

Whenever someone mentions packing, the first thing that comes into mind (other than a great deal of stress) is cardboard boxes. That is what most people use for packing up they’re belongings and there’s a simple explanation – it’s cheap and practical. What more could you ask for?

Cardboard boxes
Cardboard boxes are easy to find and you don’t have to break the bank to get these packing supplies.

There are a few upsides to using cardboard boxes for packing. First of all, they’re easy to get hold of. You can either buy them or get them for free. To get free boxes, you can either go to your local supermarkets or get online and see who’s giving away their used packing supplies. This is a great way to save some coins and lower your moving costs. Another thing you can do is ask your commercial movers Denver to provide you with their high-quality moving boxes.

Other than that, cardboard boxes are very versatile and easy to use. You can use these boxes for packing everything from clothes to kitchen supplies. Although they’re not the most secure and durable, if you wrap your items properly, cardboard boxes will do the job just fine.

2. Plastic containers can be used as packing supplies

In case you’re looking for a more sustainable version of cardboard boxes, we recommend using plastic containers. The great thing about these packing supplies is that they are long-lasting, durable and secure. Once you buy plastic containers, you can be sure you’ll use them again and again without fail. They can survive all weather conditions and keep your things safe and protected.

There’s no need to worry about the containers falling apart or tearing as you do with cardboard boxes. Also, you have the option of renting plastic containers and keeping them for as long as you need them. After you’re done with the move, you return them and let someone else get use out of them. This is not only a safer option, but it’s also good for the environment as they can be reused so many times without creating waste.

3. There’s no escaping bubble pack!

Wrapping is key if you want your things to remain undamaged during transportation, so you need to think about that when getting packing materials. And what better way to wrap your belongings than by using bubble pack? This is the thing everybody uses when they want their fragile items to remain intact and prevent them from getting damaged. And there’s one good reason for that – it works. It’s really that simple.

Bubble pack, tape and scissors - some of the essential packing supplies
Getting bubble pack means ensuring your precious belongings don’t get damaged in the moving truck.

So, if you have a lot of fragile things that need extra protection and care during transport, we recommend using bubble pack. Whether you’re moving locally or long distance, you can’t go wrong by investing in the protection of your items. After all, you can never be too careful, so have some bubble pack on hand even if you don’t have that many sensitive objects.

4. Tape

There are certain things that often come in handy and that every household needs. Well, tape is one of those things. When you’re packing, tape can be especially useful. You’ll need it if you want to tape your boxes shut and make sure they don’t bust open in the truck. Also, tape is a great thing to have by your side just in case. For example, if the cardboard boxes tear, how else would you try to fix that mishap?

5. Utilize things you already own as packing supplies

Here’s some good news! You don’t have to go out and buy all the packing supplies. Just have a look around your house, you probably already own a bunch of stuff that could come in handy. This is yet another way to cut your moving costs and avoid spending extra money on packing materials. Here’s what you could utilize.

Make use of some of your sturdy suitcases.

  • Do you own any suitcases? Great! Use them for packing your clothes, books or anything else you see fit. This is a great way to use fewer boxes and save some space in your moving truck. So, pack your suitcases for the move because you have to transport them anyway.
  • Duffel bags or any other bags are also a great option.
  • If you’ve got some trash bags, it’s time to put them to the test and see how many things they can hold. Try not to pack anything too heavy in them, though.
  • Use your towels, clothes, sheets and similar objects for wrapping fragile items. You don’t have to use bubble pack if you don’t want to, you can do this instead.

Have you gotten your packing supplies? It’s time to get to work!

So, packing supplies are essential when you’re moving house. It’s important to be prepared and have everything you need. So, get all the supplies you need for packing and get to work. And if you’re really dreading this process, you can’t go wrong with hiring a professional moving company. Whatever you choose to do, we wish you good luck!
